cooley_pic    Darren Cooley is the head coach for Plano Senior High Wrestling.  

Coach Cooley was born and raised in Oklahoma City.  After becoming a high school national champion and earning All State honors as a wrestler, Coach Cooley chose to play football at the next level and earned JUCO All American honors at Coffeyville, Kansas. Coach Cooley went on to play defensive line for The University of Arkansas. In 1993, Coach Cooley founded his company, The Athletes Course L.P. in Plano, Texas. At its peak, Coach Cooley ran his program at over 200 high schools across the state of Texas. Coach Cooley moved his family to California in 2002 after a major UIL rule change, and began a career in education and coaching wrestling. Coach Cooley began coaching at Santa Fe High School near San Diego, where he built a 1st year program to 2 time CIF champions. Coach Cooley quickly built his head coaching resume to include 2 undefeated seasons in duals, 1 high school All American, 4 state placers and several wrestlers signed to scholarships including Tyler Iwamura, a 2 time NCAA qualifier from Fresno State. Coach Cooley is in his 13th year of coaching. Coach Cooley is married to Cristy Cooley and they have 3 children: Madison, Austin and Cash.
